課程概述

A systematic approach to planning, scheduling and controlling organizational activities; time lines, budgets and quality criteria. To develop an understanding of the concepts and techniques of managing projects. Topics will include, project selection, role of the project manager, budgeting, scheduling and control, negotiation and conflict resolution, and project management software tools. An emphasis on case analysis and discussion will be used to collectively interpret the material. 

課程目標
1. To develop an understanding of the concepts of Project Management
2. Concepts discussed include: Economic Analysis of Projects; Multiple-criteria Evaluation Methods; Organizational Structures and Work Structures; Project Scheduling; Budget Management; Resource Management and Control. 
課程要求
*Quiz and class exercise - Individual*
Before the start of the class, a 10-minute quiz will be taken. The scope of the quiz is the class content of the previous week.

*Readings(導讀) presentation, case studies, and a real project report - Group*
1. The class exercise will be taken during the class. The students need to finish the exercise before the end of the class.

2. The students are expected to read the readings materials before the class, 2 groups will be assigned for doing presentation. The presentation time would be 10~15 minutes.

3. Four required group case write-ups are to be completed during the semester. The written report is to be one-inch margins using a question/answer format citing of any outside references (if needed). Cases will be graded based on depth of analysis, content and format. One to two groups might be selected for each case, to present their analyze and thoughts about the assigned case questions. The presentation time would be 20~25 minutes.

4. A real project report needs to be presented in final-term exam.
該小組專案應為已完成或預期於期末前完成之專案,建議為小組成員參與過的專案。期中應提交一次書面報告,說明該專案基本資訊。期末應提交該小組專案書面報告及簡報。

5. The assigned presentation group need to send the PPT before five o'clock the day before class to the TA.
